Kaunas Artists' House (KAH, Lithuania) and the ACROSS residencies led by thankyouforcoming (Nice and surroundings, France) have joined forces in 2021 to develop the DeMo (for Decoding Modernity) cross residencies. This programme, initiated by KAH, aims to explore the links between different modernities, to think of modernity as a range of concepts marking various periods and geographical situations, notably through cultural, scientific, societal and industrial developments.
Last summer, a one-month residency allowed artist Beatrice Celli to discover the contemporary art scene and the history of Kaunas and its region, to develop her research work and to participate in a new international professional network.

In return, thankyouforcoming welcomes the Lithuanian curator Neringa Bumblienė in 2022 as part of the 7th season of ACROSS residencies, selected following a call for applications.

Neringa Bumblienė is a curator, art critic and art consultant based in Vilnius. Since 2014, she has been working as a curator at the Centre for Contemporary Art (CAC) in Vilnius, Lithuania, is curator of the Lithuanian pavilion at the 59th Biennale di Venezia with the project Gut Feeling by Robertas Narkus and artistic director of the 1st Vilnius Performance Biennale, scheduled for 2023.
