FESTIVES !
During her ACROSS residency in September 2021, the curator Madeleine Planeix-Crocker was working to bring together in Nice a group of representatives, associations and artistic and cultural structures involved in the social field and/or the public space, and associations fighting against discrimination against women.
A collective work day was then held at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMAC) in Nice with this in mind.
This pooling of resources has created sparks, since within a few weeks was created "FESTIVES! - an artistic and cultural mobilisation to fight against gender-based and sexual violence".
The aim of this festival is to open up spaces for reflection and creation around the fight for women's rights on two occasions: around 8 March - International Women Rights Day, and around 25 November - International Day Against Gender and Sexual Violence.
The FESTIVES! festival aims to deconstruct and go beyond the gendered norms that still shape our representations of the world and our relationship with others, in order to open up the possibilities for each person, whatever their sex or gender, to live free of violence.
Workshops for all ages, exhibitions, performances, screenings, games and readings, choirs, concerts, reading surveying sessions, allow us to tackle these subjects in an artistic and festive way, while at the same time constituting a centre for resources, meetings and support.
