ACROSS #16 – February – April 2018

Chiara Nuzzi (1986, Italy) is an independent curator and researcher based in Italy.
She graduated in Visual Arts and Curating at IUAV University of Venice and she later attended the post-graduate curatorial program CAMPO in Turin, Italy (held by Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, 2012-2013). Between 2014 and 2015 she was part of the research program for international curators CuratorLab at Konstfack University of Stockholm, Sweden.
Her practice revolves around the relation between art and collectivity, analyzing how art itself can develop an active role in our daily life becoming a fundamental tool to rethink our society. Her survey pays great attention to the moving images and sound and, since 2015, she is artistic director of Sonic Somatic, a Florence-based festival ranging between visual arts and music production.
Chiara Nuzzi worked with several art institutions in Italy and abroad and she collaborates with the Venice Biennale of Cinema and Lo Schermo dell’Arte Film Festival in Florence.

The residency ACROSS #16 is realized with the support of the Prize ON BOARD 2017 promoted by MiBACT Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism -, General Directorate for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Suburbs and by GAI – Association for the Circuit of the Young Italian Artists

Chiara Nuzzi’s project comprises 3 chapters, developped in a 3-month long residency of researching, networking and working on the field.
